Obtain an understanding and an appreciation for why this special event has been celebrated through out the centuries and yet still holds a very prominent position within the cultural fabric of modern Japan.

Explore the cosmopolitan cities of Tokyo and Osaka whilst still visiting the historical cities of Kyoto and Nara home to numerous temples and shrines, classical gardens and wonderful culinary delights.

JPN 187.jpgCome into contact with the religious significance of Mt Koya-san. This monastic complex is the headquarters of the Shingon School of Esoteric Buddhism. Located in a remote natural setting, visitors have the opportunity to experience an overnight stay in temple lodging accommodation and obtain a glimpse of the long held traditions of Japanese religious life.

The Buddhist monks go about their normal daily duties whilst their presence gives an unmistakable solemnity to the village.

All of the above makes this tour an all-embracing experience of Japan’s inherent beauty and historical culture.

Cherry Blossom Tour: Tour Itinerary

Day 01    Arrive Tokyo: Afternoon orientation tour of Tokyo including Tokyo Observation Deck and Ginza.

Day 02    Tokyo: Full day sightseeing tour including Asakusa Kannon Temple, Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace Garden and Sumida River Cruise.

Day 03    Tokyo - Osaka: Shinkansen train to Himeji. Sightseeing tour including Himeji Castle, Koko-en Garden, Osaka Dotonbori Street and Kuronom Market.      

Day 04    Osaka: Full day sightseeing includingTodai-ji (Great Buddha), Nara Deer Park, Horyuji Temple and Museum.

Day 05    Osaka - Koya-san: Train to Mt. Koya-san. Sightseeing tour of Mt. Koya including Okuno-in Cemetery and Temple, Kongobu-ji Temple. Overnight temple stay accommodation.

Day 06    Koya-san – Kyoto: Buddhist Morning Prayer Service. Transfer to Kyoto including a visit to Fushimi Inari Shrine and Nishiki Ichiba Food Market.

Day 07    Kyoto: Full day sightseeing including Golden Pavilion, Kiyomizudera Temple, Nijo Castle, and Higashiyama District. Evening walking tour of Gion Geisha District and Cultural Evening Theatre Show.

Day 08    Kyoto: Day at leisure for shopping or join your tour guide for a day trip to Hiroshima including Hiroshima Peace Park and Museum.

Day 09    Kyoto - Tokyo: Morning at leisure to explore Kyoto. Afternoon bullet train back to Tokyo.

Day 10    Tokyo: Tour concludes.
